Tsunami Sins
I linger on the sidewalk,
catch your words
with my umbrella, hold
them there until my mind
drops them to the ground.
A ghost in the streetlight
pierces your face
with a gentle glow
you lost long ago.
Rain puddles like spittle
in your hair. Your mirror
cracked, life too many
journeys to fit
in your chalice
of tarnished gold.
I’m a piece of forever
tossed from your hand.
